Wade Hampton Shaft
Mark Dixon discovered silver bearing ore on this property near Don Luis in 1912. The following year the Copper Queen Consolidated Mining Company sank a 220ft. deep shaft with two levels. Gold, silver and lead were of interest to the company not copper on this property. In 1915 the property was shut down, but was reopened by lessees in 1918 and shipped siliceous ore for smelter flux until 1919.
